SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

ORSATO srl is a Founding Member of the Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC).

The Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC) is a non-profit organization founded in 2005 with the mission of promoting responsible ethical, social, and environmental practices in the working of gold and diamond jewellery that respects human rightsat every step, from the mining of the materials to their wholesale and retail.

The objective of RJC members is to defend the integrity of the jewellery sector and to promote its sustainable development throughout the production chain with respect for social and environmental equity.

“As a Founding Member of the Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC), we are committed to conducting our activities as specified in the RJC Code of Procedure, well aware of the importance of ethical, civil and moral responsibility for the sustainable growth of the activity, employee motivation, and customer satisfaction in guaranteeing uninterrupted commitment and attention to practices that are responsible in social and environmental terms.

The Management pledges to support responsible conduct throughout the production chain in its sector, ensuring that also its partner companies (suppliers and/or subcontractors) adopt ethically sustainable business practices respectful of the laws and regulations in force.

We make an effort to apply considerations regarding ethics, human, social, and environmental rights in our daily work, company planning, and decision-making processes, and meet to review company performance in terms of ethics once a year.

Specifically, we pledge to respect the following:

Social, cultural, and economic rights, such as the right to take part in cultural activities, the right to nutrition, and the right to drinking water and hygiene;
Workers’ rights, such as the freedom of association, the effective right to collective bargaining, freedom from forced labor, child labor, and discrimination on any grounds;
Civil and political rights, such as the right to vote and to freedom, freedom of expression, and equality before the law.”
